Bayern Munich have continued their record of having at least one player starting a World Cup final since 1982 as France defender Dayot Upamecano was in the starting line-up in Qatar.
This is the 11th consecutive time the German record champions have a player starting the final.
With defender Benjamin Pavard and winger Kingsley Coman, defending champions France have two other Bayern players on the bench.
Defender Lucas Hernandez, meanwhile, missed the tournament after rupturing the cruciate ligament in his right knee in France’s opener against Australia.
Due to his injury, Atletico Madrid are the club with most players in the final, the La Liga outfit represented by Argentina’s Angel Correa, Nahuel Molina and Rodrigo de Paul, and France’s Antoine Griezmann.
