The Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry officially steers in a new leadership on the 24th of November 2022. An Investiture ceremony and fundraising for the chamber, under the distinguished chairmanship, Senetor Adetokunbo Abiru, was held at Oteju Hall, Ikorodu Town Hall Lagos.
The chamber (ICCI) was incorporated in 2011 as a private, non-profit-making organisation of businessmen, professionals and notable industrial actors to join forces in interest of the business community in Ikorodu Division. Aimed to liaise with Government, Private Sector within and outside Nigeria to promote infrastructural progress in its environs,’ has the chamber intends to attract and increase industrial trade, improve agriculture, conserve resources and enable public interests in the businesses – set to serve as the second largest industrial area in Lagos, Nigeria.
Pof. (Emeritus) Kunle Ade Wahab, the outgoing President of ICCI, currently National Treasurer of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
He stated, the chamber had being in long way, committed to fulfill its motive of forming positive connections with the government and non-governmental role players to overcome common challenges facets the community.
“As a chamber will continue to play important roles in bridging the concerns between Policy makers and the business community, our business luncheon’s meeting had been a good forum for networking, it has unlock deeper insights and opinions about the businesses district over the years.” However, during my reigns in ‘ICCI’ I had an instructive journey which has compelled me to think beyond the present and understand the larger picture of B2B networking chain. It’s very important to involve SME business owners, trade Women and Youth to partake in key sectors of the economy,’ if we really want a working economy development nation,’ added that his regime has formulated a rebranding committee that initiated and facilitation of the new ICCI website. Prof.Wahab stated.
Engr. Kayode Shoderu, Former pioneer Chairman of Economy and Strategy Committee, also serves has the Second Vice President, First Vice President and immediate past Deputy President, before his installation as the 4th President of Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).
In his speech, Shoderu promises to build on the foundation of its predecessors, even though he’s open to exploit new paths.
He stated, “my vision to develop Ikorodu Chamber of Commerce and Industry into a First-class Business Organisation is a trajectory to maximize.”
Programs and activities that underscore our core values – through Education, Training, Trade Fair, Economic Summit, Business Luncheon, Business Research, Entrepreneurial Programmes and resources should be expected.
“ Myself and the new executive officers will maintain our commitment to represent all business stakeholders in Ikorodu Division and encourage membership, with a good representation regardless of race, political affiliation, or religious association.” Engr. Shoderu make his pledged.
Chairman of the occasion, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, was represented by his special adviser on media and publicity, Enitan Olukotun, while speaking,’ he stated that the chamber will continue to have its principal support as did in year prior. “Senator Abiru has comprehends the need to synergize with the chamber for successful projections.” Enitan added.
“ We owe our district, ICCI a duty to create an enabling environment and opportunities for it to thrive in this digital revolution age,’ has I urge the chamber to be more efficient at the forefront of the inventiveness and digital innovation that’s currently shaping the world – ICCI should adopt more sophisticated means to channel businesses to leverage the numerous supports it has to offer in Ikorodu.” I fecilitate with Engr. Shoderu as the 4th President and the new executive officers on their successful installed to serve our dear Chamber, wishes all a prosperous tenure ahead.
HRM, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, Ayangburin of Ikorodu, HRM, Oba Basiru Sotonwa, Sekumade of Ipakodo – who represented by High Chief Oludayo Shotomiwa (Olisa of Ipakodo) was expected to grace the event,’ has it noted that Oba’s council meeting day clashes with the investiture ceremony, which causes the absent of the Royal Fathers.
