16th Year Remembrance Prayer: Clerics Urge Family to Unite, Sustain Lawal’s Legacy

Family, friends, associates and admirers of the Late Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Mohammed Alabi Lawal gathered in Ilorin today to offer special prayer in rememberance of the 16th year of the demise of the former governor.

The prayer session which took place at the Admiralty Villa (House) of the former governor attracted massive crowd made up Islamic clerics, politicans and family members of the Late Governor, led by Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kwara State in the 2023 election.

In his sermon at the event, Alfa Sakirudeen Yahaya Muritadoh Agodi, recalled the good deeds and legacies of the former governor and insisted that “a good man does not die” because good deeds are immortal.

He urged the family members to remain in unity and sustain the legacies of their father in order to keep him alive in the minds of people of Kwara and beyond.

In his own remark on the occasion, Ustaz Abdullahi Alaya, former Chairman Kwara State Hajj Commission recalled the last moment of the Late Governor, saying that “Lawal was faithful, caring, charitable till his last moment.”

He prayed for the repose of his soul and enjoined the family to remain in unity to sustain his legacy.

Dignitaries at event inculde notable Islamic clerics from the State, politicians, especially SDP chieftains.
