The State Director of Security Emmanuel Okoye Msi, of the Director of State Security has enjoined men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, OYO state Command to continually partner with the DSS in maintaining law and order in the state.
The Director made this clarion call today during a courtesy visit to the state Command of the NSCDC, old Nitel building, Agodi Ibadan.
He stated that security Agencies in the state should collaborate in tackling insecurity in the state as the security of lives and properties is a collective responsibility.
The Director stressed further that it is important to share security information among the security Agencies so as to boost efforts in reducing crime and criminality to minimal.
In his words,”there is an existing cordial relationship between the two agencies which needs to be improved as there is no room for inter-agency rivalry”.He stated.
While reacting, the state Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CC Adaralewa Micheal, noted that team work between the two Agencies is a welcome development and it is a continuous process. He stressed further that the Corps is working tirelessly in ensuring that the citizens are well secured through intelligence information gathered.
Meanwhile, the two Security Chief in the State later charged the people of Oyo State and all Stakeholders involved in the Security Architecture of the State, the Transport Unions who are more closer to the people, to always dim it fit in giving credible information gathered to nib crime in the bud.
Commandant Adaralewa Micheal later emphasised on the importance of information gathering as the major tools in curbing Crime Nationwide.
