The Nigerian Navy has said that its personnel and comedian, Cute Abiola is serving a one-month punishment for ridiculing the Nigerian police.
The Instagram comedian was arrested on November 15, 2021, but has been released from detention to serve his ‘light corrective punishment’ in the cantonment.
According to the Nigerian Navy, he was placed on one-month ‘extra duty’ for wearing police uniform in one of his skits and for ridiculing the Nigeria Police Force in the process. He is expected to end his punishment by December 15, 2021, and would be allowed to return home to his family.
Naval spokesperson, Commodore Suleman Dahun told Punch’s Saturday Beats that Cute Abiola was given a light punishment of a ‘one-month extra duty’ after a military trial.
